MQF4 Course: Child Participation in the Neighbourhood Community

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is collaborating with the Malta Foundation for Wellbeing of Society to deliver formal training in Child Participation in the Neighbourhood Community, awarded at MQF level 4. This course is fully funded by MCVS.

This course will provide VO members with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to facilitate children participation within their community or group. It will enable participants to understand that children should be given a stronger voice and role within the community as it is both their right and duty to participate in decision-makings within their community. This course will provide formal training on child participation and show how this can be done effectively. It will empower adults on how to engage with children in the community and collectively contribute to a more inclusive and holistic community in Malta.

Session 1 – Foundations of Child Participation
Session 2 – The Neighbourhood’s Impact on Child Wellbeing
Session 3 – Listening to the Child – Tools and Environments for Effective Engagement
Session 4 – Assessing a Neighbourhood and Organising Activities with Children
Session 5 – Listening, Communicating, Reflecting and Changing

Dates
Session 1 –  Tuesday 21st January
Session 2 –  Tuesday 28th January
Session 3 –  Tuesday 4th February
Session 4 –  Wednesday 12th February
Session 5 –  Tuesday 25th February

Time
Each session will be held from 5pm till 8:00pm

Deadline to submit your registration is 16th January 2024 – noon.

Each voluntary organisation may apply for a maximum of 1 volunteer. Each training session will have an intake of a maximum of 25 participants, hence we encourage VOs to submit their application as soon as possible to secure their spot.
