Walking uncharted territory – A collective exploration of public space inBirkirkara
Raffaella Zammit is a Masters student at the University of Malta. She iscurrently reading for a Master of Arts in Social Practice Arts and CriticalEducation, at the University of Malta, supervised by Professor Raphael Vella.For her dissertation she is conducting a study titled Walking unchartedterritory – A collective exploration of public space in Birkirkara.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠?
The aim of this social practice art research is to explore mobility and publicspace through the eyes of parents/guardians and children using artisticmethods. Together with Raffaella, you and your child/children will walk,explore, discuss and create. No artistic experience is required to participate.
Should you wish to participate in this study you will meet at The Mill, Art,Culture and Crafts Centre, Birkirkara between May and September 2023. Togetherwith Raffaella, you and your child/children will go on four short walks aroundThe Mill in Birkirkara, with each walk followed by a creative workshop. Anadditional two sessions will be held to develop an artwork together based onthe experiences shared.
Your participation will contribute to an understanding of how parents andchildren feel about mobility issues in public space. For this study there isspace for around five adults and five children.
