Workshop "journey into sustainable living: experiencing and learning at a green hub"
Join the workshop organised by Active Citizen Education (ACE) on September 16th!
It is well proven that being active within the community is beneficial for individuals, the community, and the wider world around them. Being active citizens helps people feel a sense of belonging and unites people to make the changes required for the wellbeing of society.
The Directorate for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability is organising a series of activities in collaboration with different organisations to explore and promote this concept further. The activities involved various non-formal teaching and learning strategies and focus on different aspects of becoming an engaged member of the community.
By attending these workshops, participants could:
- Define the term active citizenship
- Explore the benefits of being an active citizen for the self and society
- Gain first-hand experience and comprehensive understanding of the components and societal advantages of a sustainable hub
- Identify one or more actions one can take to be an active citizen through sustainability.
The general public is encouraged to register and participate in the second interactive event that is being organised in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Rurali Manikata. The workshop will take place on the premises of Fondazzjoni Rurali in Manikata. The venue has been thoughtfully designed to be accessible to everyone, including provisions for indoor activities during rainy days.
The workshop, entitled Journey into ‘Journey into Sustainable Living: Experiencing and Learning at a Green Hub’ aims to help participants explore sustainable practices, discussing their importance and impact on the environment, communities, and the economy. Through practical hands-on activities in Fondazzjoni Rurali Manikata’s garden and field, this workshop will foster an interactive and engaging atmosphere that stimulates creativity, learning, and practical application. As a result, this workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to witness first-hand the significance of preserving and promoting sustainable farming practices, thereby enhancing their practical understanding of sustainable living concepts.
Refreshments will be available, and in the spirit of sustainability, it is encouraged that you to bring your own reusable cup/bottle to help avoid generating plastic waste. Come dressed comfortably and don't forget to bring a hat along.
