A social vision for Malta 2035
The Social Vision for Malta 2035 endeavours to provide an overarching high-level framework to guide the development of the social sector in the medium- to long- term.
The Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights (MSPC) has developed a public consultation document, subsequent to a series of pre-consultation meetings, which outlines Malta’s aspirations for Maltese society for 2035. The Social Vision for Malta 2035 endeavours to provide an overarching high-level framework to guide the development of the social sector in the medium- to long- term. The vision document is intended to build upon existing strategies, whilst at the same time pave the way to ameliorate policy development and thus better address current and future challenges.
The public consultation document identifies eleven thematic areas, namely: Poverty and Social Exclusion; Families; Childhood; Youth; Ageing; Addiction to Substances, Gambling and Other BehavioursRe-integration of Ex-offenders; Persons with Disability; Persons Identifying as LGBTIQ; Violence, Abuse and Exploitation; and Migration.
Addressing the diversified and changing needs of Maltese society requires a planned and coordinated effort with a view to meeting the aspirations of citizens. In this regard, a number of high-level future policy goals have been identified for each thematic area, which are expected to be the basis for policy development in the coming years.
