Support KultivaĊert

Because of Malta's geographical limitations, the communities that lived on the islands sought to maximise it's socio-economic potential. Thus, we don't have culture rooted in forests, on the symbioticism' of nature but our culture is rooted in agriculture.

Until now there isn't a fruit scientifically attributed directly to Malta. KultivaĊert project will be conducting a research on Citrus sub-cultivars found across the Maltese islands. This project will:

  1. Sample around 250-300 trees, send them for genetic testing in Italy and publish a research
  2. Create a network of citrus owners, who will benefit from a multiplier effect from the network and the research results.
  3. Employ 6 people that will be trained in a way to build green economy capacity
  4. Create a Cultivar bank to conserve the unique cultivars identified
  5. Participate in local feasts and agricultural fairs and events

This project will boost ACT's portfolio and thus it's credibility to apply and successfully manage EU projects, it will boost ACT operations since they will be employing people and outreach.
This project also boosts several benefits and multiplier effect in several sectors. Fruit attributed to a location will create an opportunity for the creation of distinct local agricultural and culinary products and services, a new brand for the islands.

If you are interested in supporting ACT, they are looking for financial support to run this project all money will be refunded. ACT is also open to having someone help monitor the project for a year on the project board.
