Centru Tbexbix
Centru Tbexbix is a community education and social service project in Cospicua, providing free education programmes for children, adolescents and elderly. The programmes offered aim to provide opportunities for learning and personal growth so that people are encouraged and empowered to develop themselves and to improve their socio-economic situation.
The Sunrise Centre (Centru Tbexbix), founded in 2006, is a centre located in a 17 th century house, that has undergone extensive restoration, in Cospicua Malta. During these years, the centre has provided a safe and loving environment for educational and social service programmes for the all-round development of children, youth and elderly from the Cottonera area. Programmes include an after school programme with one hour of homework help, followed by educational and fun non formal activities (yoga, arts&crafts, dance, music, sports, etc) A summer club is held during July and August. Another programme for elderly provides socialising and educational programmes, as well as daily support to members of the community having mobility problems. ll education programmes are based on the principles of Neohumanistic Education.
